  PHILLIP K. WHITTEMORE, CPA  

Phil has over thirty-seven years of public accounting experience, and primarily provides management advisory services to clients. Phil is a native of Glens Falls, New York. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Siena College in 1973 and received his designation as a Certified Public Accountant in New York State in 1983. 

  PAUL L. DOWEN, CPA

Paul has over thirty years of public accounting experience, and is the Managing Partner of Whittemore, Dowen and Ricciardelli, LLP. Paul is primarily responsible for accounting and auditing services to our clients. A native of Saratoga Springs, New York, Paul earned his Bachelor of Science Degree, with a major in accounting and a minor in Management from Castleton State College in 1980, and received his designation as a Certified Public Accountant in New York State in 1983.

  ROBERT A. RICCIARDELLI, CPA, JD

Bob has over fifteen years of public accounting experience, with his primary focus being taxation. Bob is a native of Glens Falls, New York, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree with dual majors in Finance and Accounting from Boston University's School of Management in 1990. Bob also received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo's School of Law in 1995. Bob became certified as a public accountant in New York State in 1995.

Tim has over forty years of public accounting experience focusing primarily in recent years on specialized management and business advisory services to clients. Tim is a native of Hudson Falls, New York and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Albany majoring in Public Accounting in 1972.  He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1976 and has diverse experience in a number of practice and business settings.

Colin has over fifteen years of accounting experience, including service in both public accounting as well as the private sector. Colin primarily provides audit services to the firm's clients. A native of Wells, Vermont, Colin received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Siena College in 2001, and became certified to practice public accounting in New York in 2005. During 2008, Colin obtained his Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation. This designation denotes proven expertise in fraud prevention, detection, deterrence, and investigation.

 DALE L. MULLIN, CPA, CFP®

Dale has over sixteen years of accounting experience as a Certified Public Accountant in addition to several years' experience in the private sector. He is primarily involved with the firm's tax department focusing on individual, estate and trust tax planning and preparation. Dale is a Certified Financial PlannerTM Professional.  He is a native of Ballston Spa, New York, and attended the State University of New York at Albany, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1998.  Dale received his Certified Public Accountant designation in New York, in 2000, and his CFP® designation in 2004.  Dale is a member and former treasurer of the Estate Planning Council of Eastern NY, Inc..

Our Team

Brian J. Stidd, CPA, CVA     

Brian joins the WDR team with over 15 years’ experience in both public accounting and the private sector.  He is primarily involved in tax, accounting, management advisory and business services.  Brian earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Siena in 2005.  He became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 2007 and a Certified Valuation Analyst in 2015.  Brian is skilled in general accounting and tax with specialized knowledge in manufacturing, mining, hospitality and retail automotive industries.  Active in community service throughout his career, he now holds the office of Treasurer for the South Glens Falls Little League.  Originally from West Babylon, New York, Brian currently resides in South Glens Falls, New York.

Corey E. Jenkins, CPA

Corey is a member of the firm’s audit team.  She is primarily focused on governmental accounting, not-for-profit accounting, financial statement preparation, and not-for-profit tax return preparation.  Corey joins our firm having completed her Bachelor of Mathematics Degree at The College of Saint Rose in 2011 and her Master of Science in Accounting from the University at Albany, in 2014.   She was inducted in the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society in 2013 in recognition of her academic achievement.    She became certified as a public accountant in New York, in 2018.  Corey is originally from Glens Falls, New York and now resides in Queensbury, New York.

Diane V. Varney          

Diane is primarily involved in the accounting and bookkeeping divisions of the firm with responsibilities including annual 1099 and W-2 filings; sales, gas and use tax reporting; payroll processing and reporting. Diane also works closely with new businesses to set up their accounting from basic chart of accounts to various necessary registrations and reporting requirements. In addition, Diane is part of the tax preparation team. Diane has worked in public accounting for over fifteen years, having been involved in accounting in the private sector for thirty years prior to that. She completed formal QuickBooks training in 2007 and earned the Advanced ProAdvisor Certification in 2012.  Diane finished her QuickBooks Online Certification in 2018. She is currently pursing her advanced QuickBooks Online certification, QuickBooks Certification in Enterprise Solutions and Point of Sale. Diane is a licensed NYS Notary. A native of Grangerville, New York, she now resides in Clarks Mills, New York. Diane is an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 278 and coordinates their blood drives in conjunction with American Red Cross.  

Donna J. Farrar, CPA

Donna has over thirty-nine years of accounting experience, and works in the firm's audit practice. She is primarily responsible for the firm's quality control. Donna is a native of Campbell Hall, New York, and attended the State University of New York at Albany, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1972. She obtained her designation as a Certified Public Accountant in New York State in 1975. 

Erin R. Dowen

Erin provides accounting, tax, auditing, bookkeeping and payroll services to our clients. She has over eleven years of public accounting experience, in addition to her previous accounting work in the private sector. Erin received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Empire State College in 2010 and is currently pursuing licensure as a certified public accountant. Erin is a native and resident of South Glens Falls, New York.

Frank P. Battiste, CPA    

Frank has nearly 10 years’ experience in both public accounting and the private sector.  He is skilled in general accounting, non-public company audit, financial statement and tax preparation with an emphasis on banking, manufacturing and construction industries.   Frank graduated magna cum laude with his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Siena in 2009 and became a Certified Public Accountant in New York in 2012.    He is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor for Desktop, Online and Enterprise versions.   Frank resides in Glens Falls, New York.

Jane B. Gardner, CPA

Jane is a member of the firm’s tax team.  She primarily focuses on tax preparation, specializing in trust and estate work. Jane brings nearly 25 years of multi-jurisdictional public accounting experience as well as related private sector experience in the medical, hospitality and retail industries, to our firm.   Jane earned her Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University in 1987 and her Associates degree in Accounting from Champlain College in 1991.  She obtained her license as a Certified Public Accountant from Vermont in 1994.  She further pursued and maintains licenses in both Connecticut and New York.  Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Jane currently resides in Queensbury, New York.

Janet M. Burns, CPA

Janet is the firm’s Tax Manager, responsible for oversight and direction of the firm’s tax services. As tax manager, she focuses on tax review, staff training and development, tax research, tax planning, and resolution of IRS and NYS tax issues.  Janet has over thirty years of public accounting experience, providing both accounting and tax services. Janet received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Excelsior College, in 2003 and became certified to practice public accounting in New York in 2004.  She is a native of Queensbury, New York.

Juston is the Firm Administrator.  He has over 20 years of experience in public accounting providing operational and administrative support to the firm.  Juston received his Associates Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Paul Smith's College located in Paul Smiths, New York in 1993.  He is native of Lake GeorgeNew York.

Karen A. Carpenter, CPA    

Karen has over twenty years of public accounting experience as well as over fifteen years of managerial and operations experience in the private sector.  She is a member of the firms consulting team.   Karen helps businesses with operational challenges, frequently working at client locations to assist with the developing custom procedure to improve efficiency and profitability.  She has a vast knowledge of computer systems and software.  Karen specializes in both tax and accounting for the construction industry.    She received her Associates Degree in Accounting from Adirondack Community College in 1980 and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1982. Karen became certified as a public accountant in New York in 1986 and certified as a QuickBooks online pro-advisor in 2014.  She is a native of Fort Edward, New York and now resides in Queensbury, New York.  Very active in the community, Karen is a member of the Glens Falls Rotary.  She is a former member of the board and is currently involved with the foreign exchange program. 

Kathleen A. Jones, CPA

Kathy is primarily involved in the accounting and auditing practice. She specializes in not for profit and government audits as well as financial statement review. Kathy is the firm’s Quality Control Director with responsibility for ensuring firm and staff compliance with licensing, peer review and continuing professional education requirements. She has over thirty years of experience in public accounting. Kathy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Albany and graduated with honors in 1984. She received her designation as a Certified Public Accountant in New York State in 1987.. During her career, she has served on boards of charitable, as well as professional organizations. A native of Syracuse, New York, Kathy now resides in Queensbury, New York.

Laura D. Ladu, CPA

Laura is a member of the firms consulting team working closely with businesses on operational challenges, growth and development strategies, infrastructure creation and special projects.  A member of the tax team, she focuses on tax return preparation as well as tax notice resolution and tax audit representation.   Laura joined the WDR team with over twenty years of experience in operations, management, human resources, marketing and accounting as an executive in the private sector and has over eight years’ experience in public accounting.   She has diverse industry experience including hospitality, restaurant management, property management, retail, construction, and real estate development.  Laura received her Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel & Resort Management from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1987 and was awarded the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute’s Certified Hotel Administrator, in 1994.   Laura graduated with honors from University at Albany in 2014 with her Master of Science degree in Accounting and became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 2015.   A graduate of Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, she has held several board positions within the tourism industry as well as other civic and charitable organizations. Originally from Scotia, New York, Laura now resides in Lake George, New York.

Lisa A. Grady

Lisa provides accounting, tax, bookkeeping and payroll services to our clients. She has two years of public accounting experience.   Lisa earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 2012 and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Accounting at St. Rose. A native of Wingdale, New York, Lisa now resides in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Michael J. Varney, CPA

Mike brings over 25 years’ experience in both public accounting, education and the private sector to the WDR team.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Siena in 1992 and completed his Master of Science in Teaching from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1999.  Mike became a Certified Public Accountant in New York in 1994. Mike is also an adjunct professor at SUNY Adirondack teaching Economics, Tax Preparation and Small Business Finance courses.  He is experienced in general accounting and tax preparation with an emphasis on medical practice, hospitality, restaurant and marina industries.  Mike is a lifelong resident of the region, currently residing in Queensbury, New York.

Nancy A. Cohan

Nancy is a member of the firm’s administrative support team and frequently the initial contact for clients visiting or calling the office.   She has extensive office experience ranging from executive support, ombudsman to graphic design as well as over six years’ professional support in public accounting.  Nancy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Plattsburgh.  Originally from Warrensburg, she now resides in South Glens Falls, New York.

Robin L. Wadleigh, CPA, CFETM           

Robin is a member of the firm’s audit team as well as the fraud engagement team.  She adds almost 10 years accounting experience to the firm.  Robin predominantly concentrates on governmental accounting, not-for-profit accounting, financial statement preparation and specializes in not-for-profit tax return preparation.     In addition to public accounting, Robin is an adjunct professor with SUNY, teaching courses in Government and Not-for-profit accounting.  Prior to joining our team, Robin worked in the private sector in education, bookkeeping and internal audit capacities.  Robin completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin in 2005, her Associate in Applied Science, Accounting, summa cum laude, from SUNY Adirondack in 2011 and her Master of Science in Accounting from the University at Albany in 2015. She was awarded the Academic Excellence Award in Accounting from SUNY Adirondack and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society for her academic excellence while at the University of Albany.  Robin obtained her license as a Certified Public Accountant in 2016 and her Certified Fraud Examiner designation in 2018.  She holds the office of Treasurer for both the Queensbury Land Conservancy and the World Awareness Children’s Museum.  Robin is originally from Palatine, Illinois and currently resides in Moreau, New York.

Roy provides accounting and tax services to our clients. As a member of our tax team, his focus is on partnership, corporate and individual return preparation. Roy has over forty years of public accounting experience. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany in 1971. Roy became certified as a public accountant in New York in 1977. A life long resident of Fort Ann, New York, Roy is a member of the Elks club as well as the treasurer for both the Fort Ann Cemetery and the Glens Falls Lions Club.

Sabrina L. Frenette

Sabrina joins the WDR audit team with over six years’ experience in banking and finance.    She is primarily focused on governmental and not-for-profit accounting, financial statement preparation, as well as not-for-profit and individual tax return preparation.  Sabrina completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a concentration of information systems at Siena College in 2016. She earned her Master of Science degree in Accounting from Siena College in 2017. Sabrina was inducted into the 21st Century Leaders Society in 2015 in recognition of high academic achievement and outstanding leadership characteristics. In 2016, she was inducted into the Beta Alpha Psi International Honor Society in acknowledgment of outstanding academic achievements as a financial information professional. The Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society inducted Sabrina in 2017 in further recognition of her high scholastic achievement.    Sabrina is currently pursuing her certification as a public accountant.    She is a native of Queensbury, New York.


Sandy L. Stickney

Sandy is a member of the firms’ paraprofessional team.  She primarily focuses on bookkeeping, sales tax and accounting services for our business clients.   Sandy adds nearly a decade of public and private sector bookkeeping experience in retail, manufacturing and marketing as well as extensive administrative, management and operational skills, to the firm.  She is a licensed NYS Notary.    Sandy graduated Salutatorian with a certificate in Information Processing from Gibbs College in 1988.     She is actively involved with community events like Schoolapalooza and organizations including Open Door Mission.  Sandy is originally from Norwalk, Connecticut, and currently resides in Hudson Falls, New York.

Sheila J. Bolz

Sheila provides accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and tax services to our clients.  She has over 20 years of private sector accounting experience in engineering, marketing, education, tourism and health care industries.  Sheila earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ithaca College in 1986.  She is a native of the Finger Lake Region, New York and currently resides in Queensbury, New York. 

Stephen K. Tessino, CPA

Steve is primarily involved in the accounting and auditing practice of the firm. A member of the tax team, he specializes in corporate and partnership tax returns. In addition, Steve is responsible for the firm's information technology including developing systems, preliminary troubleshooting of all computer / network related issues and is our on site liaison with our cloud provider. He has nearly thirty years of accounting experience, including service in public accounting as well as in the private sector. Steve completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at Virginia Tech in 1984 and was originally licensed in the State of Virginia to Practice Public Accounting. He became certified to practice public accounting in New York in 1989. A native of South Glens Falls, New York, Steve now resides in Queensbury. He has served as a board member for several community and civic organizations and is currently an advocate for greyhound and thoroughbred rescue.

Tammy L. DeBlois

Tammy joins the WDR administrative support team with extensive private sector experience in executive support, office management and sales. During her career she has worked primarily in the construction, real estate, and engineering industries. She completed her Associates degree in Business Management at the Community College of Vermont in 2003. In addition, Tammy earned her Real Estate License from both New York and Vermont.  A native of Queensbury, she currently resides in Kingsbury, New York.
